GOLD COAST, Australia -- Former University of Iowa diver Deidre Freeman finished fourth in the women's synchronized 3-meter competition at the FINA Grand Prix Gold Coast meet in Australia. She was competing alongside Maren Taylor.
The duo finished with 281.70 points. Australia's Ester Quin and Samantha Mills won the gold with 310.80 points.
Freeman also finished eighth on the 3-meter individually with 306.30 points in semifinal B. Only three divers from each of the two semifinals advanced to the finals.
Both Freeman and fellow American Laura Ryan's scores were higher than all scores from semifinal A, which was won by China's Lin Qu with 301.
