Indianapolis -- The University of Iowa rowing team went head-to-head against seven rival schools Sunday in the 2016 Big Ten Rowing Championship, finishing fifth in the team championship with 95 points, the second highest championship total in program history. It is the highest championship finish by the Hawkeyes since 2009.
Ohio State won the championship, finishing first for the fourth year in a row.
“Overall it went pretty well. I thought that the crews raced very well,” said third-year head coach Andrew Carter. “We came up a little bit short in a few events but I they really raced well.
