IOWA CITY, Iowa -- Senior Johanny Sotillo earned the first FloGymnastics Routine of the Week accolade of her career after capturing an event title on bars (9.900) at No. 21 Illinois last weekend. In addition, Sotillo finished third on beam with a 9.850 effort.
The Valencia, Venezuela, native helped the Hawkeyes to a 196.275 team score, their third upset victory of the season and first victory in Champaign, Illinois, since Jan. 24, 2009.
This season, Sotillo has earned 11 top five finishes and collected four event titles on bars and one on beam.
