COLUMBIA, Mo. -- The University of Iowa women's golf team is third in the 19-team field following the first two rounds of the eighth annual Johnie Imes Invitational. The Hawkeyes posted scores of 290 and 281 on the first 36 holes at The Club at Old Hawthorn golf course for a total of 571 (-5).
“The golf course is playing very nicely,” said head coach Megan Menzel. “There are a lot of birdies to be had and we knew that coming in. It was great to see them execute.”
The team’s five-under-par 571 is the best 36-hole team performance since the Hawkeyes posted a 584 at the Challenge at Onion Creek in 2009.
