SEBRING, Fla. -- University of Iowa women's golf signee Sophie Liu was named Florida Today's 2015 High School Golfer of the Year on Monday.
The 2015 Florida State (3A) Runner-Up (-4; 140) guided Viera High School to a third-place finish at the state tournament. Liu -- who will join the Hawkeyes in the fall of 2016 -- was tied for first after 36 holes of play. Following a one-hole playoff, Liu was awarded second-place.
The Vancouver, B.C., native was the 2015 Cape Coast Conference Individual Champion. She currently holds school records for the lowest season average (72.
