As I continue to get further and further away from my athletic peak and wonder why my feet and calves and knees hurt in the middle of the night as I limp down the stairs to let my dog outside, I simultaneously get more and more emotional about the journey of sports. As someone that sits in a basement office alone for most of the work week (don’t worry, my cellphone never stops ringing so I’m not THAT alone), I long for those moments of team solidarity. Those moments of triumph. Those moments of defeat. Those moments when you come together as a group and push the limits of expectations.
This town, this city, has a lot to be proud of
