When you coach as long as Kirk Ferentz has coached, there’s a lot you can pick at.
We know he errs on the side of conservative on game day. He’s the Vince Lombardi of bad quarterback evaluations. He puts most of the game on the defense and special teams and hopes to wring just enough out of the offense to win. He’s loyal to a fault. The big game record is poor of late.
He’s had scandals of varying forms and severity. It ranges from contacting Cade McNamara too early - I could not care less about that, so we’re clear - to too many guys getting in legal trouble at various points in his tenure to nepotism to racial discrimination.
