M. Swimming. Hawkeyes Down Spartans, 188-91

IOWA CITY, Iowa -- The University of Iowa men’s swimming and diving team posted a Big Ten Conference dual victory, downing Michigan State, 188-91, on Friday night at the Campus Recreation and Wellness Center Natatorium. The Hawkeyes won 12 events on the night.

“It went well, there was great racing again today, but we are eager to get better,” said UI head coach Marc Long. “Tomorrow we will wake up and have weights, and work to get better as we head into even more of our Big Ten schedule coming up.”

Iowa opened the meet with a victory in the 200-medley relay with the quartet of junior Jackson Halsmer, and seniors David Ernstsson, Roman Trussov and Jackson Allen touching in 1:30.
