M. Golf. Iowa Surges Into Lead at B1G Championships

NEWBURGH, Ind. -- Following a big second round performance on Saturday, the University of Iowa men’s golf team has taken sole possession of first place at the Big Ten Championships. The Hawkeyes carded the lowest team score of the day with a seven-under-par 281, pushing their tournament total to 566 (-10; 285, 281).

Heading into Sunday’s final round, Iowa holds a seven-stroke lead over second-place Maryland, who sits at 573 (-3; 282, 291). Second-ranked Illinois rounds out the top three teams at 574 (-2; 279, 295).

Three Hawkeyes currently sit in the top five on the individual leaderboard, including tournament leader Carson Schaake, who holds a three stroke lead at 137 (-7; 70, 67).
