LAS VEGAS -- University of Iowa freshman wrestler Michael Kemerer won a title at the UWW Junior Freestyle National Championships on Saturday at the South Point Hotel in Las Vegas.
Kemerer, who was 24-2 while redshirting for the Hawkeyes last season, recorded one pin and three technical falls to reach the finals of the 70 kg/154.25 lb. division, where he defeated Evan Wick, 9-8. He was one of five Hawkeyes to reach the medal stand. The other include Jeren Glosser (5th), Paul Glynn (5th), Vince Turk (6th), and Joey Gunther (7th).
