The Hawkeyes (14-7 overall, 4-5 Big 10) defeated the Michigan Wolverines 85-69 in Carver-Hawkeye Arena, avenging an earlier loss and snapping a streak in which Iowa had lost five out of six conference games.
Michigan (11-9, 3-6) entered the game as the third-most prolific scoring team in the Big 10, thanks largely to junior guard Katelynn Flaherty. Like her team, Flaherty was third in the conference in scoring entering the contest.
Early in the game, Flaherty carried her team offensively. 24 of her 31 points came in the first half, allowing the Wolverines to go into halftime trailing the Hawkeyes by a mere point.
