Less than two weeks ago, the women’s basketball team from the University of Iowa had won 25 consecutive games inside Carver-Hawkeye arena. Since then, the Hawkeyes have been outscored 158-125 in consecutive losses, the latter of which came 82-69 Wednesday night against the Nittany Lions of Penn State.
To make matters worse, Penn State came into the game with a 1-5 record in Big 10 games, and had lost five games in a row. This was a team that Iowa (13-6 overall, 3-4 conference) on paper should have defeated comfortably.
