The Iowa Hawkeyes dropped the annual Cy-Hawk game this afternoon 20-19 after an all-to-familiar poor performance by the offense and uncharacteristic busts by the defense. Despite early game optimism and a fantastic outing by Kaleb Johnson, who ran for 187 yards on 25 carries for 2 scores, Iowa was unable to hold the Cyclones when it really counted. At the end of the game, I’m reminded of something every child learns early in life.
Don’t play with your food.
The first quarter felt like it would be a continuation of what we saw against Illinois State.
