Survive and advance.
The new AP and Coaches polls were released earlier today and the Hawks took advantage of a few upsets to move up two spots to the #6 ranking in the new polls. #6 is the highest ranking for Iowa since (of course) the 2009 season, when they got as high as #7 in the AP Poll and #6 in the Coaches Poll.
Two teams ahead of Iowa lost yesterday (and Oklahoma State played with plenty of fire against Iowa State), Baylor and Stanford. Baylor fell six spots from #4 to #10 after losing 44-34 at home to Oklahoma (who was one of the week's big risers, rising from #12/#11 to #7) and Stanford fell eight spots from #7 to #15 after losing 38-36 at home to Oregon and suffering their second loss of the season.
