With an Iowa Hawkeyes women’s 4-1 tennis victory over the Iowa State Cyclones Friday night, the Hawks officially claimed their seventh Cy-Hawk Series victory.
While this outcome was likely after the swimming & diving teams knocked off Iowa State’s to make the series 13-6, it wasn’t until Friday when it became officially in the bag.
The undefeated women’s tennis team took down Iowa State’s team 3-2 for the 38th consecutive time in Iowa City when the women won all four singles matches and won one of three doubles matches.
Iowa’s seventh win ties them with Iowa State in the series history at 7-7-1, and it stops Iowa State’s winning streak promptly at one as the Cyclones managed to claim the title 14-13 last year.
