After stumbling on the road at Michigan State, the Hawkeyes returned home last week to host the Northwestern Wildcats and got things back on track. Iowa scored 40 points for the second straight time inside Kinnick and improved to 5-3 on the season.

Perhaps as jarring as seeing Iowa score 80 points over two Big Ten home games was the move to play backup QB Brendan Sullivan. While we know now that starter Cade McNamara suffered a concussion and was not available to go back in, we also know the coaching staff had planned to play Sullivan beyond his typical work in the redzone last week.
