Pitching. It has always been about pitching. Newsflash. It will always be about pitching. The more baseball you watch (or listen to), the more you understand that pitching wins games. Just as in football, where you have to be good on the offensive and defensive lines, if you can’t get the ball over the plate and get outs, you can’t expect to win. Hoops is the same. Scoring is cool. Pitching/defending allows you to win. The Hawkeyes got plenty of pitching last weekend in the Sunshine State. The Hawks will now head down I-35 (ok, they’ll fly) and see if they can build on a two-game winning streak.
