When your offense puts up 30 points and your defense allows zero, your team probably had a good game. This exact scenario played out for the Iowa football team Saturday morning and had it not been for a Herculean effort by the Rutgers punter, the margin of victory could have been even bigger.
Rutgers just couldn’t muster a single thing on offense, and the Iowa football team’s offense consistently managed to dig its’ way out of terrible field position to put points on the board.
The game was so secure that the second string unit came in early in the 4th quarter, and judging by the playcalling, the Iowa football team was using this as an opportunity to get the younger Hawks meaningful snaps with a variety of plays and formations so they would be more ready when they are called upon.
