In an uncharacteristic offseason where the Iowa football team lost four underclassmen and eleven starters, there is a sense of optimism and hope abound for the possibility of great success this upcoming season.
After all, the Iowa football team is returning a two-year starter at quarterback to go along with arguably the best wide receiver group this decade. His protection will be led by mammoth tackles who both have the potential to be first-round draft picks next year, and that’s just the offense.
On defense, despite losing all four starters on the defensive line, each of the expected 2019 starters possesses a much higher ceiling of potential (albeit a lower floor as well) that could make us quickly forget about how impressive last year’s defensive line was.
