The Hawkeyes were hit hard with departures this offseason, losing eight starters to graduation while losing another four to early declarations for the NFL. That’s twelve starters the Iowa football team will be needing to replace come August 31, which is no small task for any team. Fortunately for Kirk Ferentz and his staff, they have quite a few guys that are ready to step up into the roles and start in the season opener against Miami of Ohio.
This also means there will be quite a few camp battles we have to be on the lookout for during spring and summer practices with both starters and back up spots.
