The Wisconsin-native true sophomore quarterback had a tremendous day statistically, completing 27 passes for 333 yards, and a staggering 5 TD passes. Stanley currently leads the conference after two weeks with 8 touchdown passes.
The last Hawkeye to win the award was running back LeShun Daniels in a 28-0 win last season over Illinois. Daniels rushed for 169 yards and 2 touchdowns in the win over the Illini.
Stanley shared the honor with Wisconsin running back Jonathan Taylor, who became the first Badger to get it since the days of Melvin Gordon.
With a lead in the passing touchdowns category in the Big Ten, Stanley could add to it this weekend against the worst team on the Iowa schedule in North Texas.
