Despite being a Big Ten conference game, there isn’t much of a history between these two opponents. Maryland just joined the Big Ten this decade, and the Iowa football team has only been able to play them twice since that point. Saturday’s game will be the third matchup in the history of these two programs and just the second at historic Kinnick stadium.
The Iowa football team is coming off a dominating victory against the Indiana Hoosiers that helped them jump into the national rankings and resulted in numerous players receiving awards for their weekly accomplishments including Nate Stanley, Anthony Nelson, TJ Hockenson, and Noah Fant.
