The amount of injuries, and the way they have lingered this season has been quite the anomaly for the Iowa football team. I remember writing injury reports last season where there was just one guy out or a guy suspended, but never three starters for multiple weeks.
Yet, here we are again.
At least this time, the three starters that have been out (Kristian Welch, Nate Wieting, and Brandon Smith) are all making progress according to Kirk Ferentz.
In his press conference yesterday, he noted that Smith won’t likely be back against Minnesota, but he is running and cutting with trainers so there is definitely hope the Iowa football team could get their star receiver back by Illinois.
