Iowa Football: Hawkeyes Land Commitment From Chattanooga Transfer WR Sam Phillips

It’s no secret the Iowa Hawkeyes have been working to overhaul their offense since the departure of former offensive coordinator Brian Ferentz a year ago. That started with the hiring of former Western Michigan head coach Tim Lester as the replacement at OC and has been an ongoing process of Lester finding his guys to stock the skill position rooms really ever since.

Priority #1 a year ago was finding a QB. The Hawkeyes, at the time, were looking at Deacon Hill and Marco Lainez as the only healthy QBs for spring practice. Lester went out and got former Northwestern QB Brendan Sullivan and Colorado State transfer Jackson Stratton to boost the room.
