After the 45-16 disaster that was the Rose Bowl, the final AP Poll of the season has Iowa ranked #9.
This is the first top 10 ranking since finishing the 2009 season #7, and the fifth time since the 2001 the team finished in the top 10. Only Ohio State (#4) and Michigan State (#6) are ranked in front of Iowa in the Big Ten, with Michigan (#12) right on its tail.
With the return of CB Desmond King and QB C.J. Beathard for their senior seasons and the outside chance that DL Drew Ott could receive a medical redshirt and gain another season of eligibility, the Hawkeyes look primed to open up the 2016 season against Miami (OH) ranked in the top 20, if not top 15.
