Iowa Football: Brendan Sullivan Supplants Cade McNamara Atop Hawkeye Depth Chart

We saw something we rarely see under Kirk Ferentz coached teams on Saturday afternoon. After starting the day 7 of 13 passing with 73 yards and an interception returned for a touchdown (with another that would have been an even worse interception if not for a roughing the passer call), the Iowa Hawkeyes went to the bullpen and brought in backup quarterback Brendan Sullivan.

For Sullivan, who had been Iowa’s redzone QB all season, it was surely an incredible moment. Not only was he into the QB1 spot for the majority of a game, he got to do it against his former team, the Northwestern Wildcats.
