The success of first-round picks from the Iowa football program has been up and down, to say the least, but Brandon Scherff has not been one of those inconsistent high-round draft picks. In fact, he’s been quite the opposite. He’s been an anchor inside for the Washington Redskins for the past four seasons since being drafted 5th overall in the 2015 NL Draft.
This is exactly what the Redskins were hoping for when they selected Scherff, who had a fantastic career with the Iowa football team.
The Denison, Iowa native started 36 games for Kirk Ferentz and the Hawkeyes and collected quite a bit of hardware in his time.
