Iowa football bounces back with 38-21 win over Troy

After an embarrassing loss to instate rival Iowa State, the Iowa Hawkeyes bounced back with a 38-21 victory over Troy in their final non-conference game of the season.

Quarterback Cade McNamara went 19-23 for 176 yards. Jacob Gill was the Hawkeyes’ leading receiver with five receptions for 44 yards. The MVP of the game was running back Kaleb Johnson, who finished the game with 173 yards and two touchdowns.

Iowa’s defense allowed 253 yards, and the Hawkeyes’ leading tackler was linebacker Jay Higgins, who amassed seven during the contest. Defensive end Ethan Hurkett finished the game with a pair of sacks, and cornerback Jermari Harris had two pass breakups and a 28-yard pick-six.
