Prior to the 2019 season, Iowa football player AJ Epenesa made a plethora of watch lists including the Lott IMPACT Award which takes into account, not just the performance on the field but the performance off the field in the school and in the community.
Now give games into the season with the Iowa football team sitting at 4-1 with a huge game against Penn State Saturday, Epenesa has made the first cut for this prestigious award as he was officially named a quarterfinalist yesterday.
Through five games, the statistical production might not be there, but that doesn’t mean Epenesa hasn’t drastically impacted every single game.
