March Madness is over for Jan Jensen and her Iowa squad, as the Hawkeyes fell to the Oklahoma Sooners in a brutal 96-62 beatdown in the second round of the NCAA Tournament in Norman.
In a game where Iowa would need to play its best all-around game to keep things close against the size and speed of the Sooners, the Hawkeyes instead played their worst game of the season. It was a disappointing end to the season for the entire team, but in particular seniors Lucy Olsen, Sydney Affolter and Addison O’Grady. Olsen was the only player in black and gold capable of doing anything to keep Iowa in the game, scoring 20 of Iowa’s 62 points.
