The Big Ten/ACC Challenge schedule has been released, and it has Iowa playing in a second straight road game during the 2017-18 season. After traveling to South Bend last year to take on Notre Dame, the Hawkeyes will be traveling to Blacksburg, VA, to take on a Virginia Tech squad who received an at-large bid to attend the NCAA Tournament a year ago.
Iowa has played Virginia Tech three times in the history of both programs, all coming as part of the Big Ten/ACC Challenge. All of those matchups have come since 2006, each with a different head coach - Fran McCaffery was the coach of the Hawks the last time these two teams matched up, with Iowa being routed by a score of 95-79 in Blacksburg.
