For the first time in three seasons, the Iowa basketball team returned to the NCAA Tournament this past season and put on quite a performance. First, Fran McCaffery’s squad took down a tough Cincinnati squad. Then, they put together one of the great comebacks in tournament history against the 2nd seeded Tennessee before falling in overtime.
It was yet another sign of progress, but at this point, Iowa basketball fans are getting tired of progress and want to see the real thing. Hawkeye fans crave a tournament run like we haven’t seen since the 80s.
A year after the women’s Iowa basketball team made an incredible run to the Elite Eight, the men’s team will follow suit.
