Iowa basketball: Three possible transfers to fill empty scholarship spot

The Iowa basketball team lost three scholarship players at the conclusion of the season. Star forward Tyler Cook entered the draft and intends to stay there while reserve guard Maishe Dailey transferred to Akron. Meanwhile, do-it-all senior forward Nicholas Baer has graduated.

With two recruits coming in next year (Joe Toussaint and Patrick McCaffery), there is still one scholarship spot open on the roster. While traditionally the Iowa basketball team hasn’t really stuck their necks out on the transfer market (aside from Jarrod Uthoff), things could be different this time around.

Despite concerns from Iowa basketball fans, Fran McCaffery has built this program to be a contender next year and for the coming years with talented players across the roster and up and down through the classes.
