Fran McCaffery’s Iowa basketball squad snapped a streak of missing the NCAA Tournament with last year’s at-large bid, and they then proceeded to put on a show renewing faith from the Hawkeye faithful in this team.
With an almost entirely different looking team, the Iowa basketball team steps foot on the court tonight for their first game of the 2019-2020 season with a goal of returning to the NCAA Tournament for a second consecutive year.
While their schedule this year is grueling, even in non-conference play, their season-opener opponent, the SIU Edwardsville Cougars, should present a nice warmup for a team featuring three new starters.
