The Iowa Hawkeyes have been a legitimate funk since falling to Indiana the first time the two teams met in January. In that matchup, starting shooting guard CJ Fredrick departed with an injury and Iowa’s offense hasn’t looked the same since. Worse yet, in a loss to Ohio State on Thursday night, the Iowa defense again looked borderline incompetent. The Hawkeyes have now lost three of their last four games dating back to that initial IU matchup.
For their part, the Hoosiers haven’t exactly been on fire. They’ve also lost three of their last four, but played Illinois into overtime on Tuesday night and they have rest in their favor.
