To say the Iowa basketball team’s offseason has been rough would be an understatement. They’ve lost a few guys to transfer and to injury, and they’ve missed out on multiple interested transfer targets that would have seriously helped bolster the talent on this squad.
The first big transfer miss, DJ Harvey, at least went to the SEC where the Iowa basketball team will likely never see him again. Another, Joey’s older brother Sam, went to the ACC where he will play with Virginia.
Joey, however, not only spurned the Iowa basketball team after expressing interest initially and even going as far to say that he was going to visit the campus, but he did it a second time when he officially committed to play for Tom Izzo and the Michigan State Spartans.
