Wagner was an important member of the young, inexperienced Iowa bench. He played in all but one game this season and was relatively productive in those games. He was terrific in the season opener against Gardner-Webb. He scored six points and grabbed eight rebounds (six offensive), with two blocks in just nine minutes of action.
That game set the tone for the player Wagner would be this season. He was a very scrappy, effort guy for Iowa and was extremely effective in that role.
