Michigan, the only Big 10 team ranked in the current NCBWA poll, is leading the conference in this category with a team earned run average of 1.19 over 68 innings with 84 strikeouts. Iowa has the fifth-lowest ERA in the Big 10 right now at 3.53 but is fourth in fewest earned runs allowed (20).
The Hawkeyes are tied with Indiana for the fewest walks issued so far this season at 15, but are next-to-last in strikeouts with 40.
Redshirt sophomore CJ Eldred leads Iowa in strikeouts with eight, which is nearly half of what Big-10-leading Wolverine Oliver Jaskie has amassed over 11.
