After starting out the season 0-4, the Hawkeyes came into Saturday facing the defending Ivy League champion Dartmouth Big Green, and its defending Ivy League Pitcher of the Year, Duncan Robinson. This was by far the most imposing foe that the Hawkeyes would face all weekend at the Snowbird Classic in Port Charlotte, Fla.
Regardless of Dartmouth’s credentials, it was the first start of the season for Robinson, and Iowa took advantage of his rust early to claim a 4-1 win.
Senior center fielder Joel Booker led off the game for the Hawkeyes and got plunked by Robinson.
