Peter Jok led Iowa with 21 points to take down Northern Iowa 69-46 in Des Moines. Iowa got off to a hot start and never really looked back. Nicholas Baer had his first career double-double (which is astounding to me) in an 11-point, 11-rebound performance that included 2 blocks, 3 assists and a steal.
Cordell Pemsl was the only other Hawkeye to post double-digit scoring, with a relatively quiet outing that included 10 points and 5 rebounds.
One might look at the score and say “wow, Iowa actually played defense,” but that doesn’t really tell the whole story.
