That was fun. The third-ranked Hawkeyes headed into Michigan’s high school gym arena thing and took care of business with a 31-7 win. Major decisions from Thomas Gilman and Brandon Sorensen, a tech fall from Sammy Brooks, and a Sam Stoll pin were the highlights for Iowa, which went 8-2 in matches to move to 6-0 and pick up its second conference win of the season.
Somewhat surprisingly, it wasn’t Gilman with the largest margin of victory, point wise, for the Hawks — it was Brooks with a 21-4 tech fall over Ernest Battagila to take the cake in that category.
