The 1B to 1A for our list of potential head coaches is Darian DeVries. DeVries was a long-time assistant at Creighton to both Dana Altman & Greg McDermott. He built the Drake Bulldogs into a top contender in the Missouri Valley Conference as realignment affected the natural order of things.
During his 6 years in Des Moines, he tallied a 150-55 record (73%) and won a pair of MVC Tournament titles in 2023 & 2024. He also guided the Bulldogs to an at large bid in 2021. He’s currently guiding West Virginia, 19-13 & 10-10 in the Big 12, in the NCAA Tournament.
