IOWA CITY, Iowa -- The Black & Gold World Series is heading to a decisive third game following an 11-9 victory by the gold team Wednesday afternoon at Duane Banks Field.
The gold team pounded out 15 hits and scored in six of the nine innings. Five different players posted multi-hit games with senior Joel Booker leading the way with a 3-for-4, two-run, one-RBI performance out of the leadoff position.
Senior Tyler Peyton (2-for-3, 3 runs, 1 RBI), sophomore Nick Allgeyer (2-for-4, 1 run, 1 RBI), junior Drew Owens (2-for-2, 2 RBIs), and Mitchell Boe (2-for-5, 1 run) all had two-hit games.
