IOWA CITY, Iowa -- Forty-one University of Iowa student-athletes have been honored by the Big Ten Conference with the Distinguished Scholar Award, it was announced Wednesday by the league office.
Among the Iowa honorees, nine maintained a perfect 4.0 grade point average during the 2014-15 academic term, women’s basketball’s Ally Disterhoft, women’s cross country’s Jocelyn Todd and Samantha Zishka, field hockey’s Brynn Gitt and Jessy Silfer, women’s swimming and diving’s Maddie Bro and Joelle Christy, women’s track and field’s Lindsay Herra, and volleyball’s Alli O’Deen.
