The Big Ten conference announced today that Iowa junior Luka Garza was the conference player of the week after scoring 67 total points in games against Syracuse and #4 Michigan.
Garza, a 6-11 center from Washington D.C., had 23 points in a victory over Syracuse in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge and then put up 44 in a loss to #4 Michigan on the road in the conference opener.
The 44 points was the third most points ever scored in a game by an Iowa Hawkeye behind only all-time great John Johnson and was the most scored by a visitor in the history of Crisler Center.
