When I was a kid my dad always told me that Wisconsin was a team that I should respect, not like, but respect. I don’t remember much about Wisconsin before 1993, because there wasn’t much to remember, but I definitely remember that 1993 team, if only because no one saw them coming. Iowa was not particularly good in 1993 (even if they did manage to win 4 straight to end the season and achieve some level of respectability), but Wisconsin did something they hadn’t done since the 60’s (win a B1G Championship) and established Barry Alvarez’s squad as a force to be reckoned with.
