The Iowa Hawkeyes battled through a back-and-forth game with Washington State, winning 76-66. The game featured some excellent play from Nate Calmese, who sliced and diced Iowa for 27 points, but the Hawks use an 8-0 run down the stretch to regain a lead they ultimately held.
Owen Freeman was absolutely pumped for this game and paced the Hawks for 9 points in the first half before a taunting technical sent him to the bench in two foul jail (he never had another one). He added another 12 points in the second half, including a thrilling ally-oop from Sandfort which got the Moline crowd going.
