Randy Duncan, former Iowa Hawkeyes quarterback, passed away Tuesday night after battling Brain Cancer for some time. Duncan is one of the best players in Iowa’s football history, and is the last quarterback to win the Rose Bowl with the Hawkeyes in 1959.
Duncan was an All-American during the Rose Bowl winning season and finished second in Heisman voting. During 10 games in 1958, he completed 59.2 percent of passes, threw for 1,397 yards and 12 touchdowns.
Duncan went on to be the first overall pick by the Green Bay Packers in the 1959 NFL Draft, but he opted towards joining the Canadian Football League instead.
