IOWA CITY, Iowa -- A labor and delivery doctor from Eastland, Texas, probably never knew he brushed with greatness during a three-month stretch in 1929.
On Feb. 28 of that year he delivered former University of Iowa head football coach Hayden Fry; on May 30 he delivered former UI defensive coordinator Bill Brashier. Last evening Brashier joined his Lone Star State pal Fry as a member of the National Iowa Varsity Club Hall of Fame.
“It is unbelievable to be in a place like this with such great people,” Brashier said.
