IOWA CITY, Iowa -- University of Iowa senior running back Jordan Canzeri has been named AutoNation National Offensive Player of the Week. The award was announced Tuesday by the Football Writers Association of America.
Canzeri rushed for 256 yards on a school-record 43 carries to lead Iowa to a 29-20 homecoming win over Illinois on Oct. 10. He scored two touchdowns against the Illini -- the first a 17-yard reception and the second a 75-yard touchdown run -- to raise his season total to a Big Ten leading 10.
As part of AutoNation's history of charitable involvement, AutoNation will donate $1,000 to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF) in Canzeri's name.
